Rahel Nardos, M.D.

Dr. Rahel Nardos is an assistant professor of research and global health at Oregon Health & Science University, and is a board certified lead urogynecolgist at Kaiser Permanente NW. Dr. Nardos serves as the director of global health in OBGYN at OHSU and a Co-Lead for the OHSU Medical School College of Global Health and Urban Underserved.

A Yale School of Medicine graduate, she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Washington University in St. Louis. Following residency training, she spent a year as a staff surgeon at the Hamlin Obstetric Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia. Upon returning to the US, she completed her fellowship training in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery as well as a master’s degree in clinical research at Oregon Health and Science University.

In collaboration with her colleagues at OHSU, Dr. Nardos founded a global women’s health initiative called Footsteps to Healing in 2010 which provides team-based surgical care for women in Ethiopia suffering from pelvic organ prolapse and incontinence.

Currently, Dr. Nardos serves on the Board of Directors of the Worldwide Fistula Fund and is actively engaged in projects to improve the health of women in Niger, Uganda and Ethiopia through clinical service and local health-care capacity building.
