Rachel started her PA career at Doernbecher in 2010 after graduating from PA school in Wisconsin. She spent 3 years in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and then joined the Pediatric General Surgery team in 2013. She greatly enjoys working with children and their families to provide the best possible care and help guide them through their Doernbecher experience. Pediatric care often involves forming long-term relationships with patients and their families and Rachel enjoys the bond she shares with each of her patients. Rachel particularly enjoys education of patients, families and students. She is actively involved in research and development of clinical protocols and practice improvement projects. Currently, she is working on studying and improving the care and management of patients with Gastrojejunal feeding tubes. She helps take care of children during their hospital stay, as well as seeing patients in clinic and performing minor procedures. She has also enjoyed participating in several global medical mission trips and hopes to continue this endeavor in the future. In her spare time, Rachel is an avid sports fan. She enjoys hiking, snowboarding, dancing and spending time with her husband and puppy.
