I am passionate about bringing a strength-based, positive, appreciative approach to influencing human and organizational systems towards transformative change and innovation. My interest lies in complexity science frameworks for leadership and management which brings a holistic rather than reductionist perspective to systems. I have experience in both acute and community based care systems. I have practiced in a variety of leadership positions in healthcare and academia including nurse manager, clinical director, SANE (sexual assault nurse examiner) dean, and consultant. I currently teach in the Health Systems Organizational Leadership (HSOL) Program and also the Oregon Public Health Program. Over my career, I have enjoyed extensive organizational leadership experience at all levels of functioning, specializing in group dynamics and complexity science applications to organizational environments. With a clinical background in psychiatric and mental health nursing, the experience of working with individuals and groups translates into principles that apply in organizational settings, especially in managing conflict and building positive group and team interactions.
In addition to my work with OHSU, I have a private consulting practice where I facilitate organizational change and transformation using non-linear dynamic processes such as Appreciative Inquiry and Human Systems Dynamic.Read more
