Joan enjoys providing anesthesia care for patients of all ages. She has worked in a variety of hospital settings including academic institutions, small community and private hospitals seeking diverse work experiences and patient populations. Joan has provided volunteer anesthesia care to infants, children and adults with medical mission teams around the world. She has also dedicated several months to training anesthesia providers in Bhutan. In her spare time Joan enjoys dear friends and family, travel, bird watching, hiking, backpacking, skiing, gardening, cooking, and raising English Setters. Her love for wilderness and the out of doors keeps her engaged with a number of conservation organizations.
