Jennifer Erkenbeck is an associate professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. She is a board certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is also a certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and Progressive Care Registered Nurse (PCCN) from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).
Jennifer joined OHSU faculty in March 2016 but has worked in the Critical Care environment locally since 2008. Her focus has been on quality improvement, specifically the integration of Rapid Response Teams and Modified Warning Systems (MEWS) into inpatient medical/surgical units. She has completed training in the Kaizen philosophy, Versant RN training and Cardiac Arrest simulation. She has chaired her unit based council, developed a post-fall protocol and initiated a standard work for Ventilator Associated Event prevention.
Jennifer earned her undergraduate degree from Oregon Health Science University (OHSU) and graduate degree from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. During her graduate training she studied the effects Inpatient Advance Practice Providers have on length of stay and readmission rates.Read more
