Jim Carson, Ph.D., is a clinical health psychologist who has worked extensively with individuals suffering from persistent pain (such as those with chronic back pain, fibromyalgia, cancer, and multiple sclerosis), those with post-concussion and traumatic brain injury concerns, and persons referred for consideration for bariatric surgery. Dr. Carson utilizes a variety of cognitive-behavioral treatment approaches with his patients, including mindfulness strategies, cognitive therapy, and biofeedback. Prior to becoming a psychologist Dr. Carson was a meditation teacher for many years. He has conducted innovative research on the application of meditation and yoga-based programs as adjunctive treatments for various conditions.
