Biography

Dr. Itallia V. Pacentine is a National Library of Medicine (NLM) postdoctoral fellow in Biomedical Informatics. In 2013, she received concurrent BS degrees in Neuroscience and Biology, with an emphasis on molecular genetics. In 2018, she defended her PhD dissertation in Neuroscience through the Neuroscience Graduate Program at Oregon Health & Science University. Her dissertation was titled "Molecular composition and protein interactions in the mechano-electrical transduction complex of zebrafish sensory hair cells."

Through the NLM fellowship, Dr. Pacentine is achieving a Master's non-thesis in biomedical informatics. Her goals during the fellowship are to explore the field of bioinformatics and determine an ideal career path.
