Hannah Manning works as a computational biologist in the Pathways + Omics group led by Dr. Emek Demir. Her responsibilities include:

    • Developing and maintaining workflows for patient data analysis on distributed systems using python, bash, R and other languages as needed.

     Acting as a liaison among wet lab biologists, healthcare providers, and computational researchers to close communication gaps and achieve mutual goals on a variety of projects.

    • Validating algorithms for use in clinical trials.

    • Meeting technical writing needs including grant applications.

    • Training and mentoring staff, MD/PhD students, and interns.

Hannah focused on Behavioral Neuroscience and Chemistry in her undergraduate studies and later graduated from the University of Oregon Bioinformatics and Genomics Masters Program. She enjoys sitting around with a good book, avoiding eye contact at the gym, and jet lag.
