At CEDAR, Debika Debnath is interested in developing a deeper understanding of nanomaterials with biomolecules, so as to identify and develop high throughput technologies for biomarker discovery and diagnostics. Debnath is a native of New Delhi, India and worked in the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB) to developed diagnostic test to identify Mendelian and non-Mendelian disorders. She moved to the US in 2017 to earn her Masters in Biomedical Engineering, where she worked on fabricating nanomaterials as well as simulating their interaction with biomolecules at atomic level using VMD software. She is also interested to learn to develop/use statistical models to quantitate biomarkers and their relevance in any disease prognosis.
