Carol Federiuk M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Federiuk completed her B.A. degree at the University of California, San Diego and then obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in Biological Chemistry. She went on to the University of California, Irvine, College of Medicine for medical school. She completed her residency training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Arizona. After residency training, she joined the faculty at OHSU in Emergency Medicine with research interests in wilderness medicine, skiing and winter sports injuries, and emergency medical services. She was a section editor for the Wilderness and Environmental Medicine journal. She taught wilderness medicine skills for paramedics and other medical providers, and worked as a physician at a Himalayan Rescue Association clinic in Nepal. She completed her Sports Medicine fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia in 2003. She practiced sports medicine and non-operative orthopedics in Corvallis, OR, prior to returning to OHSU in 2017. Her interests include caring for athletes and active people of all ages and experience levels. She enjoys helping patients of all ages maintain active lifestyles.

Dr. Federiuk participates in many outdoor activities. She has run a dozen marathons including the Boston marathon, and has climbed many of the northwest mountain peaks. She competes in masters rowing and also enjoys biking, swimming, and hiking. Her other interests include music, meditation, and reading.
