Health Care Workforce Committee Seeks Members

The Oregon Health Authority Health Policy and Analytics Division (HPA) is pleased to announce recruitment for the Health Care Workforce Committee (HCWF).

Based on its statutory mission, the Health Care Workforce Committee coordinates efforts to recruit and educate health care professionals and retain a quality workforce, to meet the demand that [have been] created by the expansion in health care coverage, system transformations and an increasingly diverse population.

Additionally, given the strategic focus of the Oregon Health Policy Board, the Committee is particularly focused on the role the state’s health care workforce can play in improving health equity and reducing health disparities when deliberating and making recommendations.

The Committee collaboratively works with the Oregon Health Policy Board (OHPB) and other OHPB committees to make recommendations around the expansion, diversification and development of the health professional workforce in the state.
Workforce Committee members can expect to commit to one three-hour meeting every other month and up to an additional hour per month for research and/or subcommittee activities.

To ensure equitable representation, and based on known gaps in current representation, we are seeking representatives from:

  • All Oregon regions, especially rural and frontier;
  • People who identify as Hispanic/Latino, African American or Asian;
  • People who identify as LGBTQIA+.
