The OCTRI Design Studio supports early career investigators as they craft their research proposal for a career development award, plan their first R01, or implement a K award. The Design Studio provides those who present with valuable constructive feedback and networking opportunities to optimize the success of their proposal.

Presenting December 8th, 2020:

Bethany Samuelson Bannow, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Hemophilia Center, Knight Cancer Institute The Role of Endometrial Endothelial Cells in Uterine Hemostasis in Humans

We have invited senior faculty specifically for their scientific expertise and mentoring ability, both essential to the success of new clinical and translational investigators.  We also want to encourage attendance by OCTRI Scholars and early to mid-career faculty as well; you may find it personally helpful to listen and contribute to the development of other's proposals.  Design Studio is intended to support the community of scholars at OHSU.

An OCTRI Design Studio may be valuable for anyone preparing to submit the following types of proposals in translational and clinical research:

  • Career development awards, including NIH K awards
  • Veterans Affairs career development awards
  • Foundation career development awards
  • Transitions from career development awards to first R grants

We invite the OHSU research community to attend, participate and provide feedback at Design Studios. Please contact Savannah McNichol for more information regarding presenting, attending, and general questions.
