Ggplot2 is a powerful and flexible R package used to make plots and graphs of your data. In this workshop we will explain the “grammar of graphics” in ggplot2 and how to create common data visualization plots such as histograms, bar charts, and scatter plots. We will show some tips for getting your data ready for visualization and how to customize plots.

This workshop assumes basic familiarity with R, Rstudio, and data wrangling.

Attendees are strongly encouraged to have R and Rstudio installed prior to the workshop. Installation materials and remote access information will be emailed to registered participants. Those needing installation assistance are encouraged to join the meeting at 3:00 PM to chat with the instructors/TAs before the workshop.

We highly recommend watching the recordings of previous workshops: “Getting Started with R and Rstudio” and “Data Wrangling in R with the Tidyverse” Parts 1 and 2. See materials at: https://github.com/jminnier/berd_r_courses
