Dr. Du Vivier is the senior vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion and oversees the Center for Diversity and Inclusion. He is responsible for institutional diversity and inclusion initiatives within the clinical, educational and research missions.  

In addition to his duties at the Center for Diversity and Inclusion, Dr. Du Vivier is an assistant professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine in the School of Medicine. Previously, he served as the assistant dean for diversity and inclusion in the School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from Emory University and master's in business administration from Duke University. He completed his residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai Hospital and New York.  

Dr. Du Vivier joined OHSU in 2014. He served as president of the Faculty Senate from 2017 to 2019. He is a co-chair of the Oregon Health Policy Board’s Health Equity Committee and is also a member of the Health Equity Subcommittee of the State of Oregon: Racial Justice Council. He was a past member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists Committee on Professional Diversity, as well as the American Society of Anesthesiologists Committee on Governmental Affairs. Dr. Du Vivier served on the Oregon Health Authority Health Equity Analytics Workgroup and was a Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellow in Japan. Prior to coming to OHSU, he practiced anesthesiology in southern Oregon for more than 10 years.
