J-1 Visa Waiver Program participants:

OHA is pleased to announce that the Administrative Rules, along with the Application form and Employment Status Report, have been streamlined in order to reduce unnecessary paperwork and make it easier for facilities and physicians to participate.  Some highlights are:

1. The six-month recruiting requirement has been removed and replaced with “documentation of recruiting attempts”;
2. Employment Status Reports are due once per year instead of every six months, effective immediately.  The only exceptions are those who have submitted an odd number of reports, i.e., one (after six months of work), three (18 months) or five (30 months) will need to finish that year in order to stay on cycle;
3. Quite a bit of the application paperwork has been eliminated.
