September is Pain Awareness Month

September is Pain Awareness Month, intended to raise public awareness around pain, pain management, and the great work pain professionals do. The focus for 2022 is the vital importance of an individualized, multidisciplinary and multimodal approach to pain care. We are very proud of our Comprehensive Pain Center faculty and staff, and their top-notch, multidisciplinary approach to patient care, research, and education.

Congratulations to Drs. Katie Schenning, Avital O’Glasser, and Kevin Burfeind, and Praveen Tekkali, whose paper, Potentially inappropriate medication administration is associated with adverse postoperative outcomes in older surgical patients: a retrospective cohort study was published in the most recent issue of Anesthesia & Analegesia.

Congratulations to Drs. Mike Aziz and Kamila Vagnerova for their recent publication in the journal Anesthesiology, Carbon dioxide, blood pressure, and perioperative stroke: a retrospective case-control study.

A huge congratulations to Dr. Glenn Woodworth for an incredibly successful and productive research year. Glenn's prolific publication record is evidence of his international reputation in medical education and regional anesthesiology. As many of you are aware, each of these publications represents hundreds of hours of work. Congratulations on these publications, but more importantly for helping to drive innovation in medical education.
