Research

Congratulations to Dr. Avital O’Glasser for publishing an article in Perioperative Care for Operating Room Management, titled Perioperative Medicine is a master class in high EQ leadership.

Congratulations to Drs. Hung Nguyen, Wenbin Zhu, and Selva Baltan for publishing their article Casein Kinase 2 Signaling in White Matter Stroke in Frontiers in Molecular Biosciences.

Congratulations to Dr. Kevin Blaine for receiving a Collins Medical Trust grant to support the creation of a new trauma-specific coagulation test. Dr. Blaine has established himself as a leading expert in trauma hemorrhage management.  This in vitro study aims to develop a new “INR” type coagulation blood test that will test coagulopathies specific to trauma. Instead of using traditional lab reagents, this test will utilize a venom derived from Russell’s viper, a venomous snake endemic in South Asia. The project goal is to develop a new assay that can be further optimized for automated coagulation testing and viscoelastic hemostatic assays, with the ultimate goal of guiding resuscitation after trauma in the operating room. Congratulations to Dr. Blaine and his team for their commitment to improving outcomes after trauma!
