Monthly volunteer meetings
The volunteers of the Transgender Health Program meet the 2nd Friday of every month to:
- Discuss current or new volunteer opportunities
- Check in and/or coordinate about existing volunteer projects
- Create community with other volunteers
- Plan community and campus engagement activities
Current and prospective volunteers are welcome to attend this meeting. Volunteers may not participate in any volunteer activities until they have completed all orientation and onboarding requirements with the THP and OHSU Office of Visitors and Volunteers.
Social Connection Project
The last 30 minutes of our volunteer meetings are dedicated to volunteers enrolled with the Social Connection Project. During this time volunteers will:
- Share experiences about volunteer-participant SCP conversations
- Provide peer to peer support
- Create community among SCP volunteers
- Share strategies for creating engaging conversations
- Receive continuing education on topics relevant to SCP
This portion of the meeting is dedicated only to fully onboarded and trained SCP volunteers.
