Grand Rounds topic: Anticipating and Mitigating Oncologic Clinical Deterioration Through Data Science and Implementation Science

About the presenter:
Dr. Lyons is an intensivist and physician-scientist with research interests in clinical research informatics, biostatistics, healthcare delivery, and learning health systems. His current research involves (1) creation, evaluation, and implementation of risk prediction models for hospitalized patients with cancer, (2) leveraging health information technology to improve care transitions for high-risk inpatients, and (3) human-centered design of health information technology. OCTRI's KL2 Program is designed to support early-career faculty in their transition to research independence. The mission of the KL2 award is to identify and support promising faculty who may benefit from OCTRI support and resources in their efforts to obtain independent research funding. This KL2 award is funded by the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Research (NCATS) through the Clinical Translational Science Award program, which supports a national network of research institutions. The KL2 Visiting Scholars Program was developed by consortium partners to promote collaborative cross-CTSA training, leverage academic strengths at host CTSAs, and support the career development of participating scholars through experiential training and the development of new partnerships.
