Dr. Bob Shangraw has been awarded Professor Emeritus, an honorary title for a retired faculty member which recognizes distinguished past service to the institution. In Dr. Shangraw’s case, this included 31 years of providing outstanding clinical care, conducting academic research, and providing extraordinary service to the organization. In sharing the news of Dr. Shangraw’s appointment, Interim Dean Dr. David Jacoby reflected that he was on the SoM Promotion & Tenure Committee when Dr. Shangraw served as chair, noting “This was right when we started to have the clinical faculty series, and he led us in working all that out, and very ably. He’s a prince.” Congratulations and we continue to be grateful to have you as a member of the department, Bob!
