While health literacy is now being taught in medical school, including here at OHSU, it is a topic that existing faculty may not be quite as familiar with. Join OHSU colleagues for a presentation by Cliff Coleman, M.D., M.P.H., who will discuss the important topics of health literacy and systemic racism in communication training standards.

Cliff Coleman, M.D., M.P.H. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine; Doris and Mark Storms Chair in Compassionate Communication at the Center for Ethics in Health Care; and Clinical Thread Director for Professionalism, Ethics, and Communication in the School of Medicine.

  • Presentation and discussion from noon - 1:30 p.m.

Note: This presentation will be similar to the presentation that Dr. Coleman gave as part of the OHSU Center for Ethics in Health Care’s Compassion and Solidarity: Enhancing Ethical Medical Care in Oregon and Beyond lecture series. If you were not able to attend his Sept. 10 talk, you are encouraged to register for this talk. If you did attend previously, you are still welcome to join for this expanded session, which should offer additional time to Q&A and group discussion.

Hosted in collaboration between School of Medicine Faculty Development and the Office of Educational Improvement and Innovation.
