Endowed professorship, accepted and published manuscripts

Congratulations to Dr. Selva Baltan, who was recognized by the School of Medicine for her endowed professorship.

Congratulations to Dr. Tera Cushman for her published article “The role of anesthesiologists in perioperative limitation of potentially life-sustaining medical treatments: a narrative review and perspective” in Anesthesia & Analgesia.

Congratulations to Dr. Catherine (Kasia) Davis for the acceptance of her manuscript “Soluble epoxide hydrolase blockade after stroke onset protects normal but not diabetic mice,” in International Journal of Molecular Sciences. This is a special issue “The Role of Hydrolases in Biology and Xenobiotics Metabolism.” This was a collaboration between Dr. Bob Shangraw and Dr. Nabil Alkayed’s groups. They had previously shown that pharmacological inhibition of sEH, the enzyme responsible for the breakdown of neuroprotective EETs, prior to stroke was protective to control and diabetic mice, and wanted to determine whether inhibition after stroke onset would also be protective. They found that sEH inhibition after stroke onset was protective to the control, but not the type 2 diabetic mice.

Congratulations to Drs. Yifan Xu and Leila Zuo for the acceptance of their manuscript, “Time-efficient shared decision-making for airway management of a patient with intellectual disability and anticipated difficult airway: a case report” to the Journal of Clinical Anesthesia.

Congratulations to Dr. Halina Offner-Vanderbark on the publication of her article “Cross-talk of the CNS with Immune cells and Functions in Health and Disease” published in Frontiers in Neurology, section Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology.
