SBIR/STTR

The Federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs are a critical source of non-dilutive financing for early stage companies. The National Cancer Institute’s SBIR Development Center provides funding, networking, and mentoring support for small businesses developing innovative cancer technologies. In fiscal year 2020, NCI SBIR will provide $179 million to small businesses to translate their innovation from lab to market. NCI SBIR program directors Monique Pond and Jonathan Franca-Koh will be speaking at this event, covering:

  • Overview of SBIR/STTR eligibility requirements
  • NIH SBIR/STTR process and new cancer-focused grant funding opportunities from NCI
  • NIH/NCI resources for applicants - Applicant Assistant Program (free!)
  • NCI SBIR/STTR initiatives such as NIH Innovation Corps (I-Corps™), peer learning and networking opportunities, and commercialization workshops
  • NCI Investor Initiative to help NCI SBIR-funded companies to connect with investors, venture capitalists, and strategic partners from the biotech and pharmaceutical industries

Following the presentations, selected companies will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with program directors. To be considered for a one-on-one meeting, please check the box on the order form and we will follow up with more information. Space is limited; apply for a one-on-one meeting no later than May 7, 2021.
