Seminar Description

Xihong Lin, PhD is a Professor of Biostatistics in the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where she is Coordinating Director of the Program of Quantitative Genomics, an interdisciplinary program focused on the development and application of quantitative methods.  She is recognized worldwide for her leadership and contributions to statistical genetics and genomics.  Her specific areas of expertise include Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS), rare variants in Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) association studies, gene-environment interactions, genome-wide DNA methylation studies, and pathway and network analysis, among others.  Her methodological work was previously supported by the MERIT Award from the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and is now supported by the NCI Outstanding Investigator Award.  Dr. Lin was elected to the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) in 2018.  We are lucky to have her visiting from the east coast, and hope that you are able to join us for her talk.
