Grand Rounds detailsIn the midst of the U.S. drug poisoning crisis, opioid use disorder (OUD)-related hospitalizations are increasing yet little is known about the care being delivered in this type of setting. Dr. Priest conducted a mixed methods study describing, exploring, and identifying how patients with OUD are cared for in the hospital, and the barriers and facilitators to hospital opioid agonist therapy (OAT delivery). This presentation provides an overview of the study findings and the relevant public health, clinical practice, and health policy implications.
