The two strongest risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease are age and genetics, but there is hope for Alzheimer’s prevention, even if we can’t turn back the clock! In fact, many other modifiable risk factors for Alzheimer’s have been identified. In this installment of the Brain TLC Lecture Series, we'll examine the evidence for these risk factors, review upcoming multi-modal Alzheimer’s disease prevention clinical trials, and discuss how you can implement important lifestyle changes.

Dr. Aimee Pierce is an associate professor of neurology, and focuses on patient care and clinical research for patients with dementia. She has been the principal investigator of more than 15 clinical trials for Alzheimer’s disease prevention and treatment. From 2011-2018 she served as an assistant professor of neurology at the University of California, Irvine.

Brain TLC is an on-going OHSU lecture series - open to all community members - focused on aging, dementia prevention and brain health.
