Healthy Eating & Physical Activity for Wellness, Fitness & Diabetes

The foundation of self-care for diabetes is healthy eating, physical activity, blood sugar monitoring, taking medication and finding support.  In this seminar we discuss the roles that healthy eating and regular physical activity play in being healthy with type 2 diabetes.

The common perception is that people with diabetes need to eat “differently” than people who don’t have diabetes.  The reality is that all people would benefit from following the eating regimen that is recommended for individuals with diabetes.  In this session we explore healthy eating with a spin on meeting the needs of the physically active adult with type 2 diabetes.

Finally, we explore physical activity from a diabetes perspective including how improved physical fitness helps to lower blood sugar, as well as how to exercise safely with type 2 diabetes.
