Borrowing from OHSU Library

OHSU faculty, staff, students, and others may borrow items from the OHSU Library.  You can request items to be pulled and placed on hold at your desired pickup location. You will be notified when your item is available for pickup, usually within 1 business day.  You can also request items be sent to your office via OHSU Campus Mail. Distance Education faculty and students can request items be mailed to their postal address.  See below for circulation periods:

Summit Books 6 weeks, no renewals
Summit DVD's 6 days, no renewals
Reference Books Library use only

Materials may be renewed online through your Library record or by calling 503-494-3460.  Not all items are renewable. Materials must be renewed before their due date, otherwise overdue fees apply.

Get It For Me Service

(interlibrary loan/document delivery service)

Use Get It For Me to request material not owned by OHSU as well as scanned electronic PDFs of articles and book chapters in the OHSU Library’s print collection. PDFs typically arrive within 1-3 business days and will be delivered electronically to your Get It For Me account. This service is provided at no cost to current OHSU faculty, residents, staff, emeritus, and students.

Requesting Physical Materials from Other Libraries:

Summit Service

Request books and audio-visual media through Summit from 39 academic libraries throughout Oregon, Washington and Idaho.  Summit works hand-in-hand with your pre-existing library account, so no special registration is required.  Materials will be delivered to your selected pickup location and can be returned to any OHSU Library Service Desk or drop box location. This service is provided at no cost to current OHSU faculty, residents, staff, emeritus, and students.

Portland Academic Health Libraries (PAHL)

OHSU faculty, students, residents and staff can request books from any PAHL library using a library-issued barcode.  When searching the PAHL shared catalog, any book or media that can be checked out may be requested.  Journal articles and unavailable PAHL library items can be requested through OHSU Library’s Get It For Me service.
