Senior Technology Development Manager
Trina is responsible for evaluating and licensing OHSU discoveries to bring them from the lab to the market for public good. She enjoys the diversity of experience available in this field, including copyright materials licensed to non-profit organizations, high technology patents licensed to Fortune 500 corporations, and medical devices licensed to early-stage startups.
Prior to joining OHSU, Trina was a licensing specialist at the USC Stevens Institute for Innovation at the University of Southern California. She also worked in real estate leasing, was an interrogator in the US Army and managed a scuba shop located next to the number one shore dive in North America. Trina came to OHSU as a technology development coordinator in the Industry and Academic Collaborations Team, where her responsibilities included negotiating contracts in support of research. She then joined the Technology Development and Licensing team. She received her B.S. degrees in zoology and biology, with minors in German language and computer information systems at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. She completed graduate coursework in marine science at Moss Landing Marine Labs, and received an AA degree in Arabic Language from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. She is a Registered Technology Transfer Professional and a Certified Licensing Professional.
In her spare time, Trina runs a small dairy goat farm and is perfecting her goat milk soap and chevre cheesecake recipes.
