About the speaker:

Dr. Stephen G. Reich is the Frederick Henry Prince Distinguished Professor in Neurology at the University of Maryland. He earned degrees in mathematics and Latin American Studies and completed medical school at Tulane University. He trained in neurology at Case Western Reserve under Dr. Robert Daroff and completed a fellowship in movement disorders at Johns Hopkins with Dr. Mahlon Delong, later joining the faculty there before moving to Maryland in 2002.

Dr. Reich has led numerous clinical trials in Parkinson’s disease and dystonia and received multiple teaching awards, including the Golden Hammer teaching award twice from University of Maryland residents. He has given over 250 invited lectures and maintains a busy clinical practice focused on movement disorders and general neurology.

He has served as chair of the History Section of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and the Archives Committee of the Movement Disorders Society, and held editorial roles with Movement Disorders, Parkinsonism and Related Disorders, and the Journal of Clinical Movement Disorders. He has authored over 200 publications and edited several books and journal issues.
