Prepare For Your Video Visit

Create an OHSU MyChart account

Create an OHSU MyChart account if you do not already have one, using the activation code emailed to you.

Equipment needs

To have a successful video visit, you need:

  • Smartphone or tablet with headphones (recommended)
  • Laptop or desktop with
    • Network or data connection to the internet
    • Speakers or headphones
    • Microphone
    • Camera
    • Internet Explorer

Download the MyChart app

If you have a phone or tablet for your visit, be sure to download and use the MyChart App.

Check in

Check in electronically up to 24 hours before your visit.

  • Go to Appointments.
  • Tap your appointment.
  • Tap “Go to eCheck-in”

Log in 15 minutes before your visit

  1. If you haven’t already, check in.
  2. You will see a “join by” time within your appointment.
  3. Five minutes prior to your appointment, tap the “BEGIN VISIT” icon, where you will enter a virtual waiting room. Your provider will join you there.
  4. At the end of the visit, tap the screen, then tap the red phone.

Check in

Check in electronically up to 24 hours before your visit.

  1. Go to Visits > Upcoming Appointments.
  2. Select your appointment’s “Details” button.
  3. Click the “PRECHECK-IN” button.

Log in 15 minutes before your visit

  1. Five minutes before your appointment starts, the “UPDATE INFORMATION” button will change to “BEGIN VIDEO VISIT.”
  2. At your appointment time, click “BEGIN VIDEO VISIT.”
  3. If you try to connect but aren’t able to do so, try refreshing your browser 5 minutes prior to your appointment.
