Are you interested in learning the fundamentals of qPCR technology and its applications or expanding your existing knowledge?

This seminar training session is presented by the Integrated Genomics Laboratory (IGL) and Andrea Callegari, PhD, Field Application Scientist III of Thermo Fisher Scientific. It is designed for current and future users of the IGL qPCR platforms and will cover a range of topics, including:

Basics of Real-Time PCR:

  • Fundamentals
  • Chemistries (SYBR and TaqMan)
  • From fluorescence to Ct

Specific Applications:

  • Gene expression
  • SNP genotyping

Software Demo:

  • Setting up new experiments
  • Analyzing completed experiments

Special Offer:

Those who attend this training can receive half off an IGL QuantStudio qPCR training to become an approved user of the Thermo Fisher Scientific QuantStudio 7 Flex systems available in Room 5330 of Richard Jones Hall. This is a great offer for graduate students and new members of your lab!

Once trained, researchers can schedule the instruments through the OHSU iLab ordering system. The Quantstudio instruments  in the IGL are maintained and regularly calibrated by the qPCR team (formerly designated as part of the GPSR) and are under service contract with Thermo Fisher Scientific.
