Our Program

Performing ECMO services on patient

OHSU's ECLS program provides both full-service respiratory and cardiac support in the adult. Our program is unique to the region, and uses the support of our respiratory failure, heart failure, and transplant teams. Our cross-trained ECMO team of physicians and nurses will provide care in the best location for the patient, whether the medical, cardiac or trauma ICU.

We offer a multidisciplinary team approach to care based on consensus, and work closely with specialists throughout OHSU including:

  • Critical care
  • Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery
  • Intensivists in anesthesia, surgery, cardiology and pulmonary critical care
  • Respiratory therapy
  • Pharmacy
  • Lab Services
  • Physical medicine and rehabilitation
