The Eye Love Project

David Wilson, M.D., will give a Science Pub talk at OMSI on April 7, 2020 at 7 p.m.

Title: "Light, Sight, Vision"

Description: This pub talk with cover how light interacts with our eye to create vision.  It will cover normal animal and human sight, as well as how our sense of sight is used in art and society.  Finally, it will explore eye disease and how scientists are creating new tools for the evaluation and treatment of eye disease.

This lecture is part of The Eye Love Project, a year-long multi-media art exhibit that will travel around Portland throughout 2020 to share the wonder of vision and increase awareness of the importance of eye health.

The Eye Love Project exhibit will travel among major community partners in Portland throughout the year, such as the Portland Winter Lights Festival, the Oregon Zoo and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. One aspect of the exhibit is a recording booth, where we encourage everyone to record video messages about what their vision means to them and share memories of special, visual moments in life. All with the combined mission of celebrating the wonder of vision and raising awareness of the importance of eye health.
