HOW TO APPLY
Our program provides a unique blend of clinical exposure and research experience that will serve as an asset to students applying to health professional programs around the country. Volunteers gain clinical exposure by watching surgical procedures in the operating room and by attending Trauma Intensive Care Unit (TICU) rounds, Trauma Conference, and Surgery Grand Rounds. In addition, our T-RAP members gain research experience through weekly data-collection shifts in the TICU and (optional) biweekly journal club meetings.
Our program accepts applicants on a continuous basis, as openings occur. Individuals who are interested in T-RAP are encouraged to review our eligibility requirements and to complete and submit the online application below.
Our program requires a minimum one year commitment.
Attend one four-hour data entry shift every week.
Participate in a monthly T-RAP team meeting held every 3rd Wednesday of each month.
Applicants must be currently enrolled undergraduate/graduate students or college graduates, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
In addition to meeting these department specific requirements, members must also qualify for general OHSU volunteer requirements such as submitting and completing a background check.
