Clinical trials are the final step in a long process of clinical research. They allow researchers and physicians to apply what is learned in the laboratory to studies with human participants.OHSU has over 700 clinical investigators working in over 50 different therapeutic areas.
Clinical trials enable scientists to test the true value of their research tools in diagnosis, therapy and prevention of diseases and disabilities. Each clinical trial provides an opportunity in which a promising new invention or treatment is tested in humans for the first time.
