Michael R. Powers, M.D.
Dr. Powers received his medical degree from OHSU in 1985. He continued his medical education at OHSU by completing his Pediatrics residency and fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonary. He received his board certification in Pediatrics in 1989 and in Pediatric Pulmonary in 1992, recertified in 2003. Dr. Powers has been the Division Head of Pediatric Pulmonology since 2009 and Professor of Pediatrics since 2010. His special clinical interests include Cystic Fibrosis, non-CF Bronchiectasis, Child Interstitial Lung Disease (chILD), and pulmonary hypertension related to chronic lung disease. In addition, Dr. Powers has an NIH-funded laboratory that investigates angiogenesis as it relates to bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) and retinopathy of prematurity (ROP).
