Dr. McFarland's special interests are depression and pharmacology. The professor of Psychiatry received his medical degree and Ph.D. in Biostatistics in 1979 from the University of Washington in Seattle. He completed his residency training in Psychiatry at OHSU, and his Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship from Maudsley Hospital in England.
