Arrays

For more information about Affymetrix GeneChip® probe arrays visit the Affymetrix website.  The array prices accessible from this page represent discounted prices that are available to OHSU scientists through the Affymetrix Academic Core Program, which the Affymetrix Micorarray Core subscribes to on an annual basis.  All prices include shipping, handling and storage of chips in the Affymetrix Microarray Core lab.  Note: Array prices may change with 2-weeks notice.  If you do not see your needed array on this list, contact the Affymetrix Microarray Core Director.

Expression analysis

Affymetrix miRNA (microRNA) Arrays

This single array allows for multiple-species (human, mouse, rat, canine, monkey) expression profiling of microRNAs.  Other non-coding RNA species included on the array are human small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs and scaRNAs), which are involved in ribosomal RNA processing and regulation of alternative splicing.

Affymetrix Whole-Transcript Exon/Gene Arrays

Allows for genome-wide expression and alternative transcript isoform analysis using probes selected against the entire length of a transcript and not just the 3' end like traditional array designs.  The Gene ST Array includes a subset of probes from the Exon Array and is a cost effective way to launch a whole-transcript analysis study.

  • Human Exon 1.0 ST - $465
  • Mouse Genome 1.0 ST - $240
  • Mouse Exon 1.0 ST - $465
  • Rat Gene 1.0 ST - $240

Affymetrix Whole-Genome 3' IVT Arrays

Each GeneChip genome array represents about 10,000 to 40,000 different genes or EST clusters.  "3'IVT" stands for 3' in vitro transcription, referring to the sample labeling step when a transcription reaction produces amplified amounts of labeled antisense mRNA (the microarray target).  Because this was the first commercially available expression array from Affymetrix, the majority of legacy data in the Affymetrix Microarray Core is from 3'IVT arrays.  3'IVT arrays typically include ~11 perfect match probes per probe set, which provides the greatest number of independent measurements for each transcript of any standard commercial array.
