Post Doctoral Research opening in Mitalipov Lab
Postdoctoral position is available, in the laboratory of Dr. Shoukhrat Mitalipov to study potential of experimentally induced pluripotent stem cells. Projects will focus on the mechanisms of genetic and epigenetic reprogramming of somatic cells to the pluripotent state using iPS cell and somatic cell nuclear transfer technologies. Specifically, we are interested in the role of mitochondria and mtDNA in reprogramming and re-setting the developmental program in experimental pluripotent stem cells derived from aged somatic cells. Candidate will also investigate molecular mechanisms of germ cell fate specification. The ideal candidate will have a PhD and/or MD degree, a strong background in molecular and cellular biology, and demonstrated productivity in the laboratory. Experience in embryo and iPS cell technologies will be preferred.
Candidates should send a letter of interest including a CV and the names of three references to: mitalipo@ohsu.edu
