Occasional opportunities for teachers to attend professional development events associated with scientific conferences are provided through the Office of Education Outreach at ONPRC. These opportunities are publicized through mailings to area school principals and science department chairs.
High School Teachers
Partners in Science
This program, administered by The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, provides a generous stipend to enable full-time high school science teachers to participate in research. Selected teachers conduct research projects under the direction of ONPRC scientists for 8 weeks during each of two consecutive summers. Scientist mentors at ONPRC are identified by late May each year, and application to the Murdock Trust is due by December 1st each year.
