Evaluation Core

The OHSU Evaluation Core is designed to assist OHSU researchers and community organizations with planning and implementing effective program evaluation. The Evaluation Core provides consultation and technical assistance covering the following topics:

  • Design, development, and implementation of evaluation plans across a continuum of intervention types and settings
  • Development of logic models, project objectives, and outcome measures
  • Selection and design of measurement instruments, including surveys and protocols for focus groups and interviews
  • Selection of data collection software
  • Collection, management, analysis, and reporting of qualitative and quantitative data
  • Ongoing technical assistance in evaluation to community organizations connected to OHSU
  • Selection of developmentally and culturally appropriate evaluation models and techniques
  • Design and measurement of implementation and sustainability outcomes, supporting the translation of research into practice

Faculty and staff from the Evaluation Core are available to lead or contribute to project level evaluation activities as well as provide referrals to internal and external resources for database design, statistics, and content-specific expertise. In addition to providing consultations and project-based evaluation, the Evaluation Core is committed to professional development, capacity building, and scholarship in the science of program evaluation. As evaluators, we work in partnership with researchers, organization staff, and intervention participants to measure and communicate program efficacy.
