Current Projects -- Balance Lab

OCTRI supports clinical and translational research projects in many different ways. Since its inception in 2006, OCTRI has supported hundreds of studies and thousands of investigators with funding, expertise, and services.

Collaborating with Communities

OHSU researchers have developed an interactive, multimedia health exhibit that that invites attendees to enroll as research participants and to gain information about their own diet and body composition. The Let's Get Healthy! exhibit travels across Oregon and works with communities to gather health data that they find useful.

Removing the Barriers to Research

OCTRI invests in projects that transform the research enterprise, making it easier for investigators to design and conduct successful research projects.

  • OHSU Biolibrary
OCTRI has partnered with the Knight Cancer Institute to create a combined resource for tissue and biospecimen samples at OHSU.
  • ResearchMatch
ResearchMatch is a national recruitment registry that addresses a key barrier to clinical research: participant recruitment
  • SciVal Research Expertise Locator
SciVal is a database of OHSU researchers that allows for searching by concept – disorder, drug, procedure, anatomy, and gene or molecular sequences. This tool also produces research networks and trends that can aid the search for collaboration opportunities.
  • Clinical Research Information System (eCRIS)
OHSU is implementing a Clinical Research Information System (eCRIS). This institution-wide computer application will help manage budgeting, finance, contracting, and study management for clinical studies across the campus.
