Clinical training will focus on direct bedside patient care incorporating innovative diagnostic and treatment strategies in a broad spectrum of critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients. Teaching and supervision of medical students and house staff as well as team management are an integral part of training. The fellowship is comprised by six months each year on service in the Neurosciences ICU, two months of anesthesia, and a one month rotation in the Medical ICU. The remainder of the fellowship is devoted to electives, allowing for adequate time to enhance the core clinical experience with additional clinical electives or research in the basic or clinical sciences.
