What is the Neurosciences ICU?
The Neurosciences Critical Care Program has become the cornerstone of a well-integrated and cohesive program at OHSU. The population of patients in the Neurosciences ICU is diverse and includes any critically ill patient with multi-system disease and neurological dysfunction.
The approach to patient care is multi-disciplinary and comprises of nurses trained in neuro-injury, physician assistants, pharmacists, nutritionists, physical therapists, social workers, case manager and palliative care. This collaborative model adds enormous strength in providing excellence in patient care, as well as a unique educational and training environment.
