Research experience is gained through classes offered by the Human Investigations Program (HIP) (www.ohsu.edu/hip) at OHSU as well as opportunities to initiate or collaborate on projects carried out at OHSU and the VA. Research activities include:
- Clinical trials of new therapies for MS, including novel medications and complementary and alternative medical therapies
- Clinical trials of neurorehabilitation therapies for people with MS
- Use of 3T and 7T MRI in our Advanced Imaging Research Center to investigate pathogenesis of MS
- Basic neuroscience and neuroimmunology research related to MS
We are committed to preparing our fellows for successful careers in research or in clinical practice and our fellows have been successful in obtaining national level research funding, including career development awards, and obtaining academic positions and clinical positions directly following their fellowship.
Fellowship positions have guaranteed support that includes a competitive salary and fringe benefits.
