The Oregon Tax Checkoff for Alzheimer's Research

Help Oregon discover new treatments for Alzheimer’s disease!

To advance important Alzheimer’s research in our state, Oregon health care professionals and medical researchers have established The Oregon Partnership for Alzheimer’s Research (OPAR). OPAR administers the Oregon Alzheimer’s Research Tax Checkoff Fund which allows Oregonians the opportunity to donate a portion of their state income tax refund directly to Alzheimer’s research.

How this Fund benefits Oregonians

All money donated through the Oregon Alzheimer’s Research Tax Checkoff Fund supports studies conducted here, in Oregon. These studies support researchers who are entering the field of Alzheimer's research and are expanding the knowledge base. They also:

  • Increase our understanding of Alzheimer’s and bring us closer to new treatments
  • Test ways to give effective support to caregivers and families of persons with Alzheimer’s
  • Pave the way for additional funding from the National Institute of Health and other national research programs

Where does your donation go?

The Oregon Alzheimer’s Research Tax Checkoff Fund was created by the Oregon legislature in 1990. Funds donated through this program directly support research administered by the OHSU Layton Aging & Alzheimer’s Disease Center with a community advisory committee, the Oregon Partnership for Alzheimer’s Research (OPAR).
