Neuropsychologist/Associate Professor of Neurology & Psychiatry
Dr Howieson is a clinical neuropsychologist and investigator in the Layton Aging and Alzheimer’s Research Center. She provides evaluations of memory, other cognitive functions, and behavior that are used for diagnosis and treatment planning of patients with known or suspected neurological diseases, particularly Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Her principle research focus is in the areas of aging and dementia.
She is a member of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology and serves on the Examination Committee of the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology (ABPP). She is a reviewer for the Journal of the International Neuropsychological Society and an ad-hoc reviewer for a number of other journals. She is a co-author with Dr.’s Muriel Lezak and David Loring on Neuropsychological Assessment, 4th edition, Oxford University Press, 2004.
