John McConnell, Roger Chou close Marquam Hill series May 29

"Fixing What's Broken" lecture 7 p.m., OHSU Auditorium

Roger Chou, M.D., director of the Pacific Northwest Evidence-based Practice Center, and CHSE director John McConnell will team up May 29 for the final Marquam Hill Lecture, addressing what's working and not working with the nation's health care systems and where OHSU's research fits in.

The talk is titled "Fixing What's Broken: OHSU's Role in Health Reform and Evidence-based Medicine."Dr. Chou's group heads up systematic reviews of health care topics which inform groups like the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, while CHSE is leading an NIH-sponsored evaluation of Oregon's coordinated-care organization transformation for the state's Medicaid populations.

The Marquam Hill Lecture Series brings news on cutting-edge research and clinical practice from leading OHSU researchers to a local audience. Lectures are free and open to the public, although RSVPs are suggested.
