Stephan Lindner brings policy research, econometric methods

CHSE ups its health economics capacity with the addition of Stephan Lindner, PhD, a new Senior Research Associate most recently doing policy research with The Urban Institute's Income and Benefits Policy Center.

Stephan, a 2011 University of Michigan graduate, will work initially on the quantitative arm of the ESCALATES project, an AHRQ-sponsored evaluation of multi-site efforts to improve primary-care treatment of cardiovascular risk factors.

His general research interests include "how economic circumstances, income sources, and program characteristics influence effectiveness of programs and policies aimed at improving the health and economic situation of vulnerable population groups such as displaced or disabled workers."

Recent projects include an Urban/OHSU evaluation of how the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is affecting health care options for people with disabilities.
